Can Men & Women Be STRICTLY Close Friends?

I've heard this question so many times and I've also heard a wide variety of answers. So what do I think?

I say yes it's possible BUT if both the man and woman are straight, the chances of this relationship remaining a completely non-romantic one are slim to none. Associates? Yes definitely. But if the two are close friends, it's only natural for some sort of romantic feeling to pop up at some point in time. As close friends, they're going to spend a lot of time together and share personal/intimate information with each other. That is basis enough to bring them together and make them want to explore something beyond friendship.

The problem that I've seen among my friends is that the girls want to do suggestive and flirtatious things with their "friends" but then don't understand when the guy catch feelings or wants something more than them. You can NOT invite a guy over and say "I JUST want you to lay or cuddle with me". That's definitely suggesting that you want something sexual whether you really do or not. ESPECIALLY if you're inviting these guys over late at night! What are you thinking ladies? Better question...if these guys are good enough to be your close friend or cuddle buddy, why not date them or give them a chance when they develop feelings of interest for you? Aside from sexual activity, what makes them a good friend but not boyfriend? Think about it!

Men and women can be friends, yes. But the closer these friends become, the higher the chance of a romantic feeling developing!
